Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: Is my child ready for swim team?
Answer: All skill levels are welcome! Children must be able to "swim" across the length of pool. They do not have to be fast, they may doggy paddle, and they may take breaks as needed. The coaches are excellent with working with younger swimmers to gain confidence in the pool. You will be amazed at the progress they all make through the season.

Question:  What is the likelihood there will be a 2021 summer swim team season?
Answer:  The CCCC Swim Team Board and RMAL have planned for a great swim season to include regular practices and CHAMPS.  COVID restrictions MAY continue to dictate spectators.

Question:  When is the 2021 summer season expected to start?
Answer:  RMAL is scheduling the 2021 season similar to 2019.  Practices are expected to start June 1, 2021 and continue through mid July. Specific times to be announced closer to start of season.

Question:  Will families be required to sign up for reservations related to practice times?
Answer:  The preference of the CCCC Board would be to return to an open practice schedule.

Question:  Will swim meets be held in person or virtual?
Answer:  RMAL has held in person meets during their 2021 season and plan to continue this through the summer season. Champs has been announced on their website.

Question:  If meets are in person, how will those look?
Answer:  RMAL is working on guidelines for in person meets to ensure a safe environment for swimmers, coaches and volunteers.  Spectators will most likely be limited due to proper distancing on the pool deck.  COVID restrictions set forth by Governor Northam, RMAL, Charter Colony HOA Board, and CCCC Swim Team Board will weigh heavily on allowable capacity at meets.  Depending on restrictions, there may be opportunities to flow a limited number of spectators through the pool deck area to watch their swimmers' event.  Details are fluid and are being confirmed.

Question:   How many meets are expected to be on the schedule?
Answer:   The RMAL preliminary in person meet schedule reflects 5 meets, with the first meet scheduled for the week of June 14, 2021.  The schedule will be posted on the team website when it is finalized.

Question:  Will there be Champs this year?
Answer:   RMAL has announced a full day Champs at Swim RVA July 21st

Question:  When will registrations for the 2021 season begin?
Answer:   Registrations are open as of April 15, 2021 with a discount included during April.
