Question: Will swim meets be held in person or virtual?
Answer: RMAL has scheduled for both scenarios, however the signs are more heavily weighted on in person meets.
Question: If meets are in person, how will those look?
Answer: RMAL is working on guidelines for in person meets to ensure a safe environment for swimmers, coaches and volunteers. Spectators will most likely be limited due to proper distancing on the pool deck. COVID restrictions set forth by Governor Northam, RMAL, Charter Colony HOA Board, and CCCC Swim Team Board will weigh heavily on allowable capacity at meets. Depending on restrictions, there may be opportunities to flow a limited number of spectators through the pool deck area to watch their swimmers' event. Keep in mind, details are very fluid and many are yet to be determined.
Question: How many meets are expected to be on the schedule?
Answer: The RMAL preliminary in person and virtual meet schedules both reflect 5 meets, with the first meet scheduled for the week of June 14, 2021. The schedule will be posted on the team website when it is finalized.
Question: Will there be some sort of Champs this year?
Answer: RMAL is currently planning a full day in person Champs event mid July. The date will be posted on the team website when it has been finalized.
Question: When will registrations for the 2021 season begin?
Answer: The vacant Parent Representative position needs to be filled before registrations will be opened. Registrations are tentatively scheduled to open April 15, 2021, however could possibly be delayed if the position has not been filled.
